Subject: Evans, Whiting, Davis Family 1992
The Evans, Whiting, Davis Family. By Septimus Evans Nivin, Landenburg, Pa. His name does not appear in the book as author. However, there is a note: "Please send corrections of errors and additional information to" followed by the seal of S. E. Nivin, Landenburg, PA. The Chester Co, PA, Historical Society has an 1894 photo of the author.

One Nivin (various spellings) family came from Ireland to New Castle Co, DE, and expanded into Chester Cp, PA. Some moved on to Washington Co, PA, and elsewhere.

A new edition was published in 1930 as Genealogy of Evans, Nivin, and allied families by Septimus E Nivin. The first book by Septimus E Nivin was published in 1922. He spent five more years corresponding and collecting, and died without finishing the updated volume. Alfred R Justice organized the material, but authorship of the second edition, revised and enlarged, printed in 1930, was still attributed to Septimus E Nivin.

He was a banker and Democrat representive of Chester Co, PA, in the PA Senate.
